macOS catalina can't run games

★ Novice

hey!!

so i have bought a bunch of games form origin and recently i have updated my mac to macOS Catalina, and due to this, the games are no longer optimised for this software. as they are a 32-bit app compatibility snd now macOS has upgraded to a 64-bit app (intel) compatibility  i was wondering if you are able to upgrade the apps in order to be played once more.

i dont know if they are classified as "too old" now but they are great games to play

these games include

bejewelled 3

peggle deluxe and peggle nights

as well as plants vs. zombies

if you were able to upgrade them or fix the problem it would be fantastic ! as these were the games that i used to play while i was a child and i would like to play them once more

kind regards

Hi Megan Standard smile

Apologies, but I very thankfully followed your instructions and even though the game starts again, it doesn't see my saved files. Any ideas for this?

I can still see my saves in the EA Sims 4 folder, but every time I remove the .lock file it the game start afresh Frown

Thank you in advance

The Sims 4 is currently experiencing a couple of issues in Catalina. Thankfully these are not game breaking and can be resolved by doing the following:

Error message - Unable to start: The Sims 4 is already running

  1. Move your Sims 4 folder to the desktop (this resets it back to default settings but all your data is safe in the folder you moved)
  2. Launch the game to the main menu then quit
  3. Open the Sims 4 folder you moved to the desktop then the saves folder. Select all your saves and drag them into the newly created saves folder in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4
  4. Do the same for the Tray, Mods and Screenshots folders

Game very laggy/game freezing and cursor beach balling

  1. Click on the game in your Games Library in Origin
  2. Click on the little cog under the Play button for Settings
  3. Click on Game Properties and uncheck the box for Enable Origin In Game for The Sims 4

Hi!

When you removed data.lock, does it still upload your saved game?

Because for me it forces me to create a new sim Frown

Best regards,
