I have a Mac and all my Sim 4 characters disaeared

I have Mac desktop and have been playing for a long time and had quite a set up with lots of different Sim $ characters. Now my entire library is gone. What happened. It happened when I went into launchpad and clicked on the Origin icon rather the the green diamond I have set up on my desktop and I got Sims4 with all the same worlds but none of my characters. Is there a way to get the Sims back or just start over.

Sounds like your Sims 4 folder containing your saves and other user data isn't where it should be. It should be in Documents > Electronic Arts. Is it there?
