I have a MAC that supports metal but still requiring Legacy [ Edited ]

I have a MAC that supports metal but t is still requiring me to download Legacy - I have an iMac (21.5 inch, Late 2013) with macOS Catalina (which it wouldn't let you upgrade to if you didn't have metal) and Origins requires me to download Legacy which is fine but then Im not able to play the latest packs like Discover University and I'm assuming the new Eco Lifestyle. What gives? 

I have a macOS Catalina Version 10.15.5 

iMac (21.5-inch, late 2013)

Processor 2.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel i5

Memory 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Does Origin have Full Disk Access in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy?

Does Sims 4 have access to Documents in System Preferences > Security & Privacy ?

Are you managing to save and load games ok and are they being stored in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 Legacy?

Thanks Not sure why that's happening. Could you completely uninstall the game, reset Origin - https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/ then launch Origin, make sure automatic updates are off, and re-download the game and ignore Legacy?

@Bluebellflora Tried that too and it won’t launch it requires me to download legacy. It’s the strangest thing

Yeah, me neither! And you're really sure your Mac is the model you state? I'm sure it is, the hardware supports Metal. You could try in a new user account on your Mac and see if that helps.
