So I just had to uninstall late night and uninstall my game because late night completely messed up my game and none of the tutorials really helped me. After I did that the first thing that was weird was in origin it didn’t show sims 3 as uninstalled (probably because I HAD to do it the hard way) and then once I opened the game everything was fine until I presses the play button and then the important message popped up: There is a problem connecting to the server. Please ensure your internet connection is active. If the problem persists try again later. And I also wanted to say I’m not computer savvy I just like to play games so yea.

@Maddieslat It sounds like you're on a mac, so these problems are entirely expected.
The connection error is a known issue and has been for several weeks now. Please see this post for the workaround:
If you installed Late Night only to get the unknown error message, there are two fixes. The first is required, the second only becomes necessary if you have installed or wish to install a pack that's newer than Late Night (by the date that EA released it).

OMG thank you so much this worked I know you don’t work for EA but I think you would be a great new team member there. My game is working perfectly now, also thank you for the very fast response.
