Help Choosing a External Harddrive [ Edited ]

Hello , Ok first off I will start saying that one day I want to be a Youtuber making Sims4 content.

But I have ran into a problem with the laptop I chose. It ended up having problems and not enough storage. So I stopped using it . No high quality.  2 years ago I started looking for a external harddrive, I decided I want the storage amount to be tons of store more than a billion in t. But I need help with going to the right type of harddrive. Also and a add on give me a list of good quality laptops you would recommend I have one that I will save up for soon it's a dream laptop 6k worth.  But for now I want something nice that I can use to start my YouTube channel when I get situated.  Thanks looking forward to your recommendations😇
