Game stuck on "finalizing"

First of all, I play on mac if that matters...

I was playing the sims 4 a couple of nights ago when it started glitching out. I saved and exited the game, so I could restart. When I went back into origin it showed that my sims games were downloading again, and when they finished I went to press play except it said "finalizing" instead. I waited about 20 minutes hoping it would work, but it was still stuck on finalizing. I ended up going to bed, and just pulled my computer out 2 days later to see if it would work, and low and behold ITS STILL STUCK ON FINALIZING.

I should also add that I tried uninstalling and reinstalling origin, and I also cleared out the cache folder or whatever.

Have you tried launching the game from the Sims 4 app in your Applications folder on your Mac rather than through Origin? You have two Applications folders:

Macintosh HD (or whatever the name of your internal drive is) > Applications

and Macintosh HD > Users > [your user account] > Applications
