Game running slowly since patch

I haven't actually experienced any crashing, but my game has been super laggy since the patch. Sims spend a lot of time standing around and freezing up instead of doing things, especially on higher speeds. I have to switch to regular speed when they finish one task so that they can start the next one without standing around for an hour. I don't have Snowy Escape and I've tried removing mods, clearing my cache and saves, and starting new saves. It ran a bit slowly sometimes before but now it's frustrating to play, thank you!
