An issue appears in the Lynx household in Brindleton Bay whereby the cat, Doc, has glitched fur. It appears shiny with lines or pixels showing:
The collar is the issue here as testing on another cat with the same collar yields the same results.
If you are experiencing this, please post with your Mac details in this thread. To find the information about your Mac click on the Apple in the menu bar then About This Mac (if you have a 15" MacBook Pro with integrated and dedicated graphics cards please click on System Report then Graphics/Displays and also post the details of the second card that appears in the info window). We need the following:
Model
macOS
Processor
Memory
Graphics
Please also state which game add on packs you have installed.
Workaround
Method 1 - Open the cheat console, enable cheats (type in testingcheats true and hit enter), Shift + click on the cat and select Modify in CAS. Change the cat's collar.
Method 2 - If you want to keep the same collar on the cat, open CAS as explained in method 1 then close it again. You don't have to do anything and the cat should appear normal. You will need to do this every time you load the game as it is only temporary.
The collar also produces a glitch in the fur texture on the hind leg:

Which language are you playing the game in? Deutsch
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By taking a closer look on the cat named Doc (Lynx household) in Brindleton Bay.
What happens when the bug occurs? A shiny texture overlays the cat.
What do you expect to see? A normal texture.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No
Hi!
While I was checking out the new families in Brindleton Bay, I noticed something odd: A shiny texture completely overlays Doc, a cat which is part of the Lynx household. I know this can be caused by broken CC, but I emptied my Mods folder, as well as repaired the game and deleted old cache files. I took a closer look on it in CAS, and am now pretty sure that a cat collar (selected in the picture) is the cause of it.
My specs meet the requirements of the game, which also runs wonderfully on my MacBook. So I doubt this has something to do with my graphics card?
Model: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15', Mid 2014)
Operating System: OS X Yosemite 10.10.5
CPU: 2,5 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16 GB RAM 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB
Has anybody an idea? Thanks in advance!

This seems to be mac specific. Could you try turning off Retina to see if it also happens.
Do you only see it on this specific cat ?
I'm not able to duplicate on my PC but @Bluebellflora could on her Mac
Good Luck

I'm also experiencing this and have created this current issue post in the Mac forum and moved yours to it. If going into CAS and back out doesn't solve it please can you move your whole Sims 4 folder to the desktop and try a new, clean game? Go into the Lynx house and the cat will still look glitched but go into CAS and back out and see if that makes a difference

@Bluebellflora Just did what you suggested, but unfortunately, the cat remains shiny. So weird that this glitch only seems to occur on some Macs.

Yes, it is affecting retina Macs. Although strange that yours is still shiny in CAS. Can you please try this and see if it still occurs in CAS. Please also move the Sims 4 folder onto your desktop from Documents > Electronic Arts so you are playing as if your game is brand new::

@Bluebellflora Thank you for the suggestion! I still have to try this out. Just a quick question, because I'm constantly worried about pretty much anything: Is this a risky thing to do?
November 2017
Nope, not at all
November 2017
So I reinstalled both Origin and Sims 4. The cat looks occasionally normal in CAS, but whenever I change the color of the collar it gets shiny again.
