I might have figured it out! The message says please download the LEGACY EDITION. I had the LIMITED EDITION! I'm trying downloading the Legacy Edition on Origin now.

@lhbroderick  Make sure you have the Legacy Edition instead of the Limited Edition. That's how I fixed mine

I can't lauch sims 4 legacy on my Imac mid 2007 El Capitan 10.11.6. I get an error as described in previous posts. Please EA fix the issue, I just bought  several expansions ! It never happened before !! thank you
