ERROR WHEN INSTALLING SIMS 3 UNIVERSITY LIFE OF MAC [ Edited ]

I'm trying to install sims 3 university life on my macbook pro and all of my other expansion games worked, however for this disc in particular I am getting this message:

"“The Sims™ 3 University Life Installer” because it is not supported on this type of Mac."

I can install it on my imac, but it just won't work on my pro? I can't install via origin because me and my cousin share expansion packs so she has already registered the disc. im using os x yosemite version 10.10.5.

How do i get this to work?!!?
