Does the Sims 4 work on Macs?

I bought the CD-Rom version of the game and realized that at the bottom is says PC DVD-Rom. Does anyone know if it works for Mac as well? I don't want to open it and have it not work for my Mac because then I can't return it.

at the moment no the TS4 is PC version there is no info available yet for mac's

some players seem to be able to play with Bootcamp

But isn't a Mac considered a PC?

mac's have their on OS for example mountain lion, snow lepoard etc etscif you wnat to run a windows based game for example the the sims 3 or 4 then you need a windows  based OS again for example Bootcamp  whcih come with your system

or  Parallels which you may have to buy

its now 2016 have you figured out if it does work on mac, I can't find a certain answer anywhere and i don't want to waste my money again (sims3)

The Mac version of the game was released in February 2015. It plays for most people however there is an incompatibility on some Macs running El Capitan with specific NVIDIA GPUs.
