Deleted TS4 and reinstalled it, but my Electronic arts folder is gone (mac)

★★★ Newbie

I reinstalled Sims 4 from Origin yesterday and wanted to download some cc, but my documents was empty, and played ts4 for about half an hour, because I read that playing it for a bit makes the folder appear. Even after that, the ea folder wasn’t there. I’d deleted it and reinstalled it again, and repeated everything, but the folder just did not appear. I tried locating it with terminal and hovering over my household, but when i searched up the location those gave me, the ea folder wasn’t there ;-( I talked to someone who worked at Apple to help me out, but they said they couldn’t do much, and it seemed like an issue coming from the game itself. I “repaired” the game by clicking the button on Origin, too. It didn’t work. Please help me!!!! I deleted Sims 4 to focus on my exams, and have been waiting for months to finally play it again and i’m really upset over this :-(

@mildchoke

Please open Terminal and copy and paste the following command then hit Enter/Return:

find ~ -type d -name "*The Sims 4*" 2>/dev/null

After a little while it will return the results of the search. Please copy and paste the results in a post here.

@mildchoke

What do you mean your Documents folder doesn't open properly? What happens? The game needs to access the Documents folder to load the game user data. The Sims 4 folder is right there in the Electronic Arts folder in Documents on your Mac:

/Users/my name/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4

Terminal doesn't lie Standard smile

When I click on documents, nothing happens and thr folder itself doesn’t open, and when I go to icloud and click documents from there, it opens to an empty documents folder so i’m really confused ):

@mildchoke

If you cannot open your Documents folder by double clicking on it then you have an issue with your Mac, not the game or Origin. You should reinstall the operating system at best and at worst, take it to an Apple store to have it looked at.
