Can do everything but actually play

Hi there, can anyone help me figure out what is going on please?

I have every pack. I do use mods and CC and have checked that it is all updated. None of it is broken or out of date, nor are there any incompatibilities that I am aware of. I also just reinstalled all my script mods with the most current versions just in case.

I can build, place lots, create households in CAS, place households into lots, and basically do everything except... actually play. I click the play button and nothing happens at all.

This is a new issue since the redesign patch a few weeks ago. Does anyone know what’s going on or how I can fix it?

Could you please move your whole Sims 4 folder to the desktop and then launch the game so a brand new folder is created. See if you can play for a bit and let me know how you get on

Do you mean move it from my Documents folder onto the desktop?

Yes, from Documents > Electronic Arts. The game will create a new folder but your saves etc. will be safe in the one you moved to the desktop.

I finally had a chance to give this a shot. It did work when I tried it. So it must be something in my mods... I’m going to try taking all of my script mods out and putting them back in one at a time. Hopefully I’ll find it. Thank you for your help!

I took all my script mods out and launched the game without them and am having the issue still. Hmm. The first time I click the play button, it will go to a loading screen for a long time and eventually sends me back to the page for choosing which world to go to. From there, if I click a household’s play button, it does nothing. :/

Maybe it's one of your saves? Move out your saves folder and then launch the game to see if it works.
