Does anyone know if they’re working on a Patch to fix all these issues, specially the game crashing randomly for no reason at all, no lag, not overheating, no memory leak, it legit closes out unexpectedly which is so annoying when you haven’t saved your game in a bit, I’m constantly having to save my game every 5 mins in order to play and then bam crash 😅😅

just want to be able to enjoy the game for hours and explore everything it has to offer 😭😭

please EA patch all the issues 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Me too, I would like to know if an update is in the works to fix these issues.  I mean, I understand it takes time to fix the issues, but I would feel reassured if we could get some kind of confirmation that the issues are being looked into

I uninstalled mine, re-downloaded it without the expansion packs and now it crashes before it even opens the game. I give up 😩

I'm having the same issue with unexpected crashing within max 20 minutes of gameplay ever since I updated to Big Sur. The game is unplayable. I'd love to know if they're working on it right now.

Re: sims 3 64 bit keeps freezing

@Serenoz99  EA hasn't announced anything with regards to patches or trying to fix issues with Big Sur.  If you'd like to troubleshoot though, please attach your deviceconfig.log to a post; it's in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3.  (You'll need to manually open the folders; the file won't show up in a search.)  You can delete your user and computer names, about 25 lines down, but there's nothing else in that file that can identify you.

Please also let me know which packs you have installed, which world(s) you're playing in, and whether you use mods or custom content.  It's fine if you do; it just takes a little extra work to troubleshoot.

I have almost all the expansion packs (excluding supernatural, into the future and showtime). I am currently playing in a custom world called St Claires, and I use some Nraas mods, specifically master controller, overwatch and story progression. I also use some custom content. However,I'd like to point out that I didn't have any crashing issues when I used these custom content/mods until I updated to Big Sur on my mac.

Thanks for the effort and time, I really appreciate it.

Re: sims 3 64 bit keeps freezing

@Serenoz99  It's helped some people on Big Sur to start with a clean user folder.  This doesn't mean getting rid of all your saves and other content; it's just about starting fresh and then adding back content if the game is stable.

Move your entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Don't add anything to it yet; just see how the game runs.  If you still see crashing issues, please turn down water and tree detail to the minimum settings and test again.  Whenever you change a graphics setting, other than the in-game resolution or the fullscreen status, be sure to do so at the Main Menu and then quit to desktop before loading a save.

If turning down those settings doesn't help, try playing in windowed mode instead.

By the way, your graphics chip is below the minimum requirement for the 64-bit version of Sims 4.  That doesn't necessarily mean you can't play, just that the game may not run all that well.

@puzzlezaddict I played it for roughly a half-hour, and it seems to be working! Interesting, since I did a fresh install of the game when I downloaded Big Sur....Hopefully, it'll keep it up, but thanks for your help.

@puzzlezaddict Update: I tried a new save and attempted to add a lot in edit town and it crashed....I did add custom content back in so I'll try adding a lot without custom content.

Second Update: The game seems to crash whenever I attempt to add custom lots. It frustrating, because custom content is such a large part of the gameplay.

Re: sims 3 64 bit keeps freezing

@Serenoz99  You might just be adding bad custom content, either an item that's corrupt or one that doesn't play well with Edit Town.  Try installing just one lot into a clean folder and placing it.  If it doesn't work, install one different lot and test it out.  That's a good way to test whether the problem is the presence of the cc or the particular lots you're downloading.

There are plenty of problematic uploads, all the more so because lots (and worlds, and even sims) can come packaged with a good deal of cc.  Sometimes it can take a few tries to find something you like that also works in-game the way it should.

When installing something that can carry other cc with it, it's always best to install it first into a clean folder and test it out.  That way, if it doesn't work, you've kept it away from your main user folder and don't have to go through the process of getting rid of it or moving your other content to a new folder.
