What Mac do you have, one of the ones listed in this thread?

I'm having the exact same problem, only I don't have a Mac. I really just want to play my game, and I've tried every troubleshoot possible. I've never had this issue before, it just started today.

I have not been able to get my sims 3 to launch. I don't have any expansion packs installed currently. I do not have a disk drive, but I was told that I could download the game through Origin, which I did. I also enabled to skip the launcher to see if that worked, but it did not. Here's all the information about my Mac
Version: OS X Yosemite 10.10.5
Processor: 1.6GHz Intel core i5
Memory: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB
Someone please help! thank you!
@mkt0009 - I am moving your post to the stickied thread relating to post 2013 Macs which aren't supported in the game. Please try the workaround linked to in the opening post. BluebellFlora.

That's the issue. The game is not compatible on your Mac because your graphics card is not supported. Please follow the link on the thread I posted in my previous comment and try the fix.

This is a Mac specific issue. If you need help please start your own thread with a full DxDiag of your PC.

I tried, but it still doesn't work. Nothing actually comes up just the logo on the dock. Sorry, I think I said the wrong thing. The same error message comes up. But when I launch an expansion pack (High End Loft), a problem report comes up saying it quit unexpectedly.

Unfortunately because your Mac isn't supported there is no guarantee a workaround will work. If you have just bought the game from Origin you may be eligible for a refund but you would need to contact EA for that - http://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/

Hello,
I have recently purchased the Sims 3 and 7 expansion/ game packs (Into the Future, Island Paradise, Late Night, Pets, High end loft stuff, generations and University). I am able to install everything correctly and it doesn't glitch, but when i try to launch the game, the launch page opens but when i press play the program says its already running or the program freezes. I am on a MacBook Air version 10.10.05 and everything is updated but it wont work. I really wont to play the sims because i only have recently purchase it. Please help me. Message me if you need anymore info.
