Same here @aftksims

how many patches have we gotten before? How many patches have we gotten before that’s made more glitches than fixed glitches?.

We know what patches are, we are aware sims is known for bugs and glitches but a complete unworkable game is just ridiculous and to think that because we were told a month ago they were looking into it, that makes it’s okay? What are they looking at?!?!  still nothing has been said beyond that!

I’ll get that other information and post it on here when I get home but with all due respect, I should not still be sitting here looking into why my professional computer can’t play a game that has beyond its requirements.

@WillFoShizzle

Which OS are you running? @aftksims is running Big Sur which isn't supported anyway as it is in beta.

You don't have to provide the specs if it's that much of a hardship for you. I just know that this info should be hugely helpful to QA.

@aftksims

What happens if you select the lowest possible resolution in game options? Have you changed the default UI settings at all?

Prior to my Big Sur update, I was running the most recent versions of Catalina (there was an update shortly after the 9/2020 patch). The crashing happened on both versions, even on the lowest graphics settings (with and without laptop mode on).

Currently on Big Sur, I went to low everything AND laptop mode, and it still crashes. I've toyed with being on low medium, medium and high as well - same freezing every time but currently with LOW and LAPTOP MODE, it's still freezing up. The only difference now is I can toggle back to my desktop to force quit versus a manual shutdown. This was a bit of a win, lol.

Edit - added code tags for readability and took out machine name, Bluebellflora

@aftksims

Super thanks. When you say you lowered everything I understand that is the graphics settings but have you played around with resolutions?

For example in mine the lowest would be 1,600 x 1,200. Have you tested the equivalent to see if it still locks up the game? And then tested that lowest setting in fullscreen versus windowed mode.

I tried windowed mode and it was actually more unstable.

My resolution is currently set to 2560x1440 (first option available for me). I did play around with other resolutions last week but the display looks horrible so I never played on them for very long.

@aftksims

Ok. I understand it looked horrible but could you play for a while and see if the issue happens?

Yes, but it's already on the lowest available setting, does that matter?

Re: Continue issues with Mac freezing after October update

@aftksims

You said "the display looks horrible so I never played on them for very long." was this on lower resolutions? You can put it in windowed mode and drag the size of the game window by grabbing the corner. Make it small and check the resolution is low again. If there is a lower setting then choose that one.
