Re: [CURRENT ISSUE 64-bit] bulky eyelashes? grainy hair?

I'm having this exact same issue -  huge block eyelashes, static hair. I'm running the 64bit on Catalina, 2018 Macbook Air. The game runs amazingly smooth, handles mods and CC - but that static + eyelash thing sucks. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard for EA to patch, either. Has anyone found a solution that works, like using CC eyelashes to replace the default?

My only other issues (that seem to be similar to the create a sim is 1) snow falls everywhere except my home lot - animations still exist when walking through snow, can still build snowmen, etc but it's just bare ground and 2) terrain paint does not work WHATSOEVeR. My best guess is graphics conversion issue from normal to the 64bit game that hasn't been fixed yet since they've been pumping out Sims 4 games. I know those are both known bugs as well, but can someone direct me to a master thread on those, please?

Re: [CURRENT ISSUE 64-bit] bulky eyelashes? grainy hair?

@kitkat1819  Yes, you could set your sims' eyelash sliders to the minimum and then apply custom content eyelashes; I've heard anecdotally that this works fine, although I haven't tested myself.  As for the static hair, it would help if you attached your deviceconfig to a post (you can edit this one to add it if you want).  That issue does not happen everyone, so info about affected hardware is useful.

The snow will only appear on high-detail lots, as in, the current one and any other that gets fully rendered, if you have Advanced Rendering enabled in the graphics options.  However, that comes with its own issue:

https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/CURRENT-ISSUE-64-bit-Walls-floors-cut-away-to-display...

If you do enable Advanced Rendering, be sure to do so at the Main Menu, then quit to desktop before loading a save.  Otherwise, you might see some strange graphics glitches.

I see you've already found the terrain paint thread.

I don't work for EA. I'm just trying to help fellow players with their games.

Re: Sims 3 Mac Eyelashes look blocky

★★★ Novice

My eyelashes would not go away even when I put the eyelash slider the lowest it could go either, but I found that if you go to a salon and have your sim get a makeover it will show that the eyelash slider is not all the way down even if it appears that way in normal CAS. I put the slider down and it fixed it for me. Hope this helps!

I would do the salon trick for my Sims but whenever I go to the salon, I can’t click on the tattoo chairs or the makeover mirrors.

@mkbucklin Have you tried clicking on the platforms that are in front of the mirrors?

Yes, I’ve tried clicking every inch of the object and it just shows me a grey mouse.

@mkbucklin I'm not sure then ;/ If you have Nraas Master Controller you could try resetting the lot and see if that works?

What is the best graphic settings for Sims 3?

[ Edited ]
★ Novice

I downloaded some CC but the quality is bad. Eyelashes are just black boxes and freckles barely show up when I restore to default settings but when I raise the sim detail the hair has speckles all over it and everything looks just as bad as default, help ):
