CC won't work even with CC checked and duplicating the EA folder [ Edited ]

I'm on a MacBook Air. CC worked fine before, but once I changed my password (the first thing I did regarding EA before it stopped working) CC completely wouldn't show up in game. I've looked at dozens of other forums on this bug, but NOTHING works. I'll list everything I've tried:

-Checking CC and Script Mods in settings and restarting the game

-Repairing and updating the game

-Duplicating and deleted the original EA folder

-Deleting all my CC and redownloading it

-Restarting my game multiple times

-Renaming the file "EA.nosync"

-Removing CC and readding it one at a time (none showed up)

-Putting CC in the correct folder

-Getting CC from multiple different websites

-(Edit) Deleting the localthumbcache.package file

-(Edit) Moving my EA folder and all subfolders/files in it to Documents

None work. Nothing. Please help, I just want some nice CC.

OMG! A friend on Discord helped me and it worked. I'll share what I had to do to help others with this problem:

Drag the EA folder from documents to desktop

Restart the game and close it

Wait for a new EA folder to appear in documents

Delete all files except the resource.cfg file in the EA documents folder

Move everything except the resource.cfg file from the desktop EA folder into the documents EA folder

Delete the desktop resource.cfg file

Delete the desktop EA folder

Restart the game again with cc in your mods folder

It worked!

Did you trash the localthumbnailcache.package file?

No. I just tried it though and nothing happened. Do I need to completely delete it or just move it to trash?

Great! You can trash the resource.cfg file anytime as the game will recreate a replacement each time it is launched if it can't see one in the Mods folder.
