@MaxisJoe My too files .plist are the same, fr_CA. When I try to play, a new files open in "Electronics Arts" with the names "The Sims 4" but it was only "Les Sims 4" yesterday. I don't understand why.

@MaxisJoe I see what maybe can be the problem. There's no option Français (Canada). There's only the Français (French) when you click on the game in origin directly for changing the language of the game. I did what you ask about the plist and change it in english and my game in english and everything and it worked. But when I changed back it wouldn't work... So maybe there's a thing about that? I'm gonna try to change every thing in fr_Fr... But I lost all my saves in the process and I don't know where they are...

OK gang. Here's a sledgehammer. Let's see if it can fix things. Would someone having this problem try this:

 

  1. Uninstall The Sims 4 from within the Origin client
  2. Go to the Origin preferences (Origin -> Preferences or Command+, )
  3. Set the Origin language to YOUR language (e.g. if you want The Sims 4 in German, set German here too). Note that The Sims 4 does NOT support French Canadian. Do NOT select it here!
  4. Restart Origin to apply the change
  5. Go to install The Sims 4 again. Be sure to select the correct target language here (as above, select German as your language)
  6. Wait while Origin downloads all the TS4 goodness
  7. Wait for macOS to verify The Sims 4 (this can take a long time)
  8. Try to launch The Sims 4

Can someone try this and let me know what happens?

@MaxisJoe Ok there's really a problem for all French Canadian, There's no more Français (Canada) option. So for every body that as there plist in fr_CA you need to change it in fr_FR for it to work... It worked for me and i'm on this for like six hours now?

@MaxisJoe I'm trying, it's dowloading. The only thing is at the step 5, I can only select French (Français), but in step 3, in Origin, I have the choice between French (français) or Français (Canada).

I'm trying to find some workarounds for people but right now we're still elbows deep in trying different options. Take a look at the Mac forum in general. At the top there's a very busy topic where I'm chasing this with a lot of people. Join us there!
