All - with the release that @EA_Mai mentions above none of the workarounds I've described should be needed any longer. To benefit, you MUST download the update. If you've applied the workaround(s) then you do not need to undo them. You can now properly set the Origin client to your preferred language even if the language is not supported by The Sims 4 (e.g. French (Canada)). Likewise languages supported by The Sims 4 and NOT supported by the Origin client will now work correctly when set through the GUI (you don't need to edit your PLIST to make Czech or Simplified Chinese work!).

Please let us know if you see anything that contradicts the above.

I also had the problem but was just able to fix it. Right click on the game within the origin library -> game settings -> and then change the language. There will be some new downloading happening and after that it should work. At least it did for me.

Good luck.

@kokoniasta What language have you selected for The Sims 4? Can you change to a different language in the Origin client, and then switch back? Does that help?

@jenny202194 In your Origin client please set the Sims' language to English. See if things launch. Then set it back to Français and see if the problem gets resolved. Please let me know if it does.

Hello,

I am experiencing this problem when I want to start the game: "Initialization error at start up. [135dec40:90f690cf:00000075:495f32a0]". The error appears after I have updated my Sims 4. How should I solve this problem? P.S. Game is installed on MacBook Air.

Thanks.

Re: Error: Initialization error at start up

@elipetskaya In the Origin client please set The Sims to English and see if it launches correctly. If it does, exit and set the language back to your preferred language. See if Origin does some downloading/configuring magic. Then try launching again. Does that work?
