Since writing this guide The Sims 4 base game is now free to download in Origin but the following information is relevant if you are prompted to sign up for an EA Play subscription account at any point in Origin and are using a Mac. It is also relevant to all Sims 4 DLC available in EA Play/EA Play Pro
Do not subscribe to EA Play or EA Play Pro if you only play on Mac. If you use both Windows and macOS, EA Play is not available in Origin for macOS.
Clicking on the Join Now button on the EA Play subscription page does not give you an option for Origin because there isn't one. EA App is not currently available for Mac users.
Go to the Origin website and download Origin if you don't already have it or open the Origin app if already installed, navigate to the Sims 4 in the Store and click Add to Library:
It will now be added to your Origin Games Library where you can click on the game and download it.
DLC can be purchased through Origin to add to your game. All DLC is downloaded to a separate folder called The Sims 4 packs in the same location the base game is installed. DLC available to EA Play subscribers is not available to Mac users running Origin.
If you have subscribed to EA Play you can cancel your subscription by logging into your EA account here - https://myaccount.ea.com/cp-ui/aboutme/index then click on the EA Play tab and follow the instructions to unsubscribe. You can also access the account page by hovering over your user profile in Origin and clicking EA Account & Billing.
If you have inadvertently 'upgraded' your previously purchased game in Origin to work with EA Play you need to revert it back. Right click on the game in your Origin games library and select Uninstall then choose Revert game edition:

Hi,
I have a problem with installation. When I am in My game library, I can see the game (the sims 4), but there is no button "INSTALL".
I have Macbook Air 2015.
What shall I do? please
