@Bluebellflora If you want to carry this conformation thru PM I would love to. You have been a great help to me so far as I am new to trying to use external hard drives. I just didn't want to PM you until you said it was okay.

Better to do it here as it helps others who look for help with the same issue Standard smile

Just checking, you are running Catalina as your macOS? And in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Full Disk Access there is a check next to Origin?

The easystore is looking like it should work now. Is it still formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled)?

In the screenshot above showing where you have typed in Volumes/easystore, did you then click Choose?

@Bluebellflora Yes there is a check next to origin and I have Catalina 10.15.6. It's formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). I just tried again in origin and when I put /Volumes/easystore in it didn't let me click on choose so i hit enter and still got the not mounted message

@Bluebellflora Could it be the hard drive itself not working or something

@elizabeth211995

yeah, it may be but it's showing in Finder so it is mounted. Format it as FAT32 and see if that makes a difference (it shouldn't).

So I think i finally was able to get the dang Hard Drive figured out. This is what it shows under the game library location now. I saw some general directions on the hard drive manufactures websites reviews on how to get the hard drive to be set up for mac. It had me rename it so I named it "SimsDrive" as it shows up there. Do I do the SymLink next. Large smileLarge smile

@elizabeth211995

How did you rename it? Did you reformat and if so what as (helpful for anyone else reading this Standard smile )?

Is your game now properly loading from the external? The symlink is not related to the game installation location.

I was going to play it today again. My game couldn't save my progress. But I know my wifi is spotty as well. I did the symlink this morning so was going to play again after doing it. As far as how i got my hard drive formatted I'll put it in Bold.

Open Disk Utilities.
From the View menu, choose "Show All Devices."
Select WD Elements on the left side of the window.
Right click and choose "Erase" from the pop-up menu.
Create a name and choose "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" assuming you have a current vision of OS-X.
It will reformat the drive in about a minute.
