@KickerGirl14 Your 2017 15" MacBook Pro has an AMD graphics card, and Sims 4 currently doesn't run in macOS Sierra on AMD cards. The only solution right now is to update to at least High Sierra, although the game seems to run better on Mojave.

Right, I'm having this same issue I also can't figure out how to download High Sierra. I found a link on the apple store, but when I try to install it, it says the link is broken and cannot be used... It's so frustrating as I feel like I just wasted $43 buying the new expansion pack!

@KickerGirl14 and @jamiecatherin Try the link in this page:

(It seemed to work for me, but then I didn't actually try to download from the App Store.)
If you want it, here's the link for Mojave:

I'm having the same exact problem!
My screen splits and it shows half my desktop, half black screen. The only way is to force a shutdown.
I have tried everything. I removed my sims 4 folder, same thing.
Tried launching from applications instead of origin, same thing.
updated the options. fullscreen to 0, same thing.
I was playing a couple days ago no issues.
The only difference today was I did update my MAC to Sierra 10.12.6 (IMAC 2017)
and I did buy city living and get famous.
When I went to play my news games, this started.
Anyone figure anything new out yet?

@izzivacant Nope, there's nothing new at this point. The only solution is still to update at least to High Sierra. Until EA finds a way to fix this, there's nothing else we can do.
If you want the direct links for High Sierra and Mojave, I linked them in the post immediately above yours.

I can't update my computer due to the software I use for school. Just checking that the only option for me is to keep waiting until EA fixes this? It's been so long already lol

@detwilert93 You could install another OS on an external hard drive or USB stick, if you have one that's large enough. These instructions are for installing Mojave for other reasons, but they'd work for you too:
