Honestly, I’m very disappointed in the changes to the trigger buttons. Maybe we should have been surveyed prior to the changes as I haven’t seen one player happy with the changes. Please change it back

You guys need to work on your transparency and communication skills with us console players, because we are treated like an afterthought. Very disappointing and disheartening. I know updates take time, but at the very least, can we get an estimate of when our controls will be fixed.

★★ Novice

Hi, I've been a simmer since the sims 2 on ps2 and I've played on PC and console. I understand changes being made to increase ease of playability for new simmers. However technically speaking this update doesn't seem to have been well thought through or tested. The controls for zoom, confirm, and speed are overlapped. When the game is paused and you go to clear notifications it speeds up the game and if a sims is in the middle of traveling and you pause, clear the notifications and the game goes x2 or x3 speed it Now forces the paused action to continue which has caused my game to crash previously. Even when aging sims up on birthdays the game freezes when trying to select new traits at times now what if my sims has a bday and ages up while the speed is x3.. it has happened and has forced my game to freeze crash. Keep in mind on console we can't duplicate our sims 4 folder to backup our game saves. And on top of the EA has even said themselves that after updates it can cause in-game issue and even but not limited to game save file corruption or losing a a save entirely. Now imagine playing for hours you try to clear notifications before your sims travel and then if it speed up your game at the wrong moment you lose hours of gameplay or possibly a save file because of a forced update or a freeze from trying to use free cam that has always worked flawlessly. Then consider that console players may want to create content to support and promote your game too. As someone who loves reviewing apps, games, and softwares... And as someone who has some experience in game design I'm jus here to say please consider changing console Live Mode controls back at the least. They prevent us from doing basic things that were included in the game when we purchased for example taking still photos on free cam, playing with ease, and enjoying the game.

@EA_Cade I got a pathing issue with my game
My sim always goes the long way around even though my sims needs to go inside and my sims also keep saying things are in the way when the item has plenty of room around it
I deleted my save and game reinstalled the game started a new game and that pathing issue is still in my game
Like for example I've told my sim to go up stairs and what do they do
They go out of the house then go all around the out side then upstairs

@theyorkshirejo I dealt with the same issue. You gotta click on the sims head and put the cheat in.

This game is getting more and more unplayable each time it gets an update that literally nobody asked for. Revert the live mode controls back.

I love playing the sims but since this new update it feels quite literally unplayable I would have preferred you to add new features to the buttons we don’t use (which is probably none of them) rather then changing what we already know for me with my memory issues the sims 4 is hard enough to memorise the controls to go and change the whole thing up when I just started getting used to them feels really annoying because it’s like learning how to walk again everything is so different I now end up having to watch tutorials to figure them out and then I probably end up forgetting them straight after… I wish there was an option to go back to the original controls

@EA_Cade Can you please change the controls on Xbox please, it’s so frustrating to the console people. So please change the controls back to the original controls please!

@Massacre-Redrum Thank you! I did figure out that workaround thankfully. I can’t edit sims with them moving around and with not being able to use live mode or CAS, I was kinda stuck
