Sims 4 Xbox One save erased

I recently bought Sims4 on Xbox One, Yesterday after hours of work I saved my game. Today I booted it up and it didn't save ANYTHING. It loaded my save from 2 days ago... Yesterday I saved my game multiple times, and each time I would save the portrait of my household would update correctly. 

How do I get my old save back? If I can't get it back, how do I prevent this issue from happening again? I'm extremely nervous that this will happen again (particularly since I saved at least a half dozen times, easily).

Is your game up to date, as in all available updates applied?

Are you sure you are using the same profile the progress was made on?
