After the latest update, SIMS4 initialises, but kicks out three quarters of the way through starting up (green diamond is three quarters of the way along the screen). The screen goes black-blank for 2 or 3 seconds, then goes back to standard Xbox screen to allow you to select SIMS again, or any other product.
I've restarted the xbox, rebooted the xbox and cleaned the disk. Any further ideas welcome! All other games work fine, so just a SIMS update issue.

I know you mentioned that you have tried rebooting, but let's give a power-cycle of your Xbox One a try. Please shut the console all the way down and then unplug it from the wall. From there, wait 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in and boot it back up.
Please give that a try and let me know how it goes for you.

Normally, the fastest way to see your recent posts is to click on your username, either next to a post you made, or a mention (like your name at the beginning of my post). How is this issue considered solved?? This advice sure didn't help me!! My game still doesn't work, this is not solved for everyone.
