Garbage Dump

Noticed that when my sim goes to pick up that he won't put it in the trash can he throws it back on the ground when the trash can is right next to him, how do you fix it? It was fine and now there's a problem with the garbage can

You need an outside garbage can, too, as I recall.

Can you try and use a new trashcan?
Then make sure he/she doesn't have any traits like the lazy trait, because I do believe that he/she might be dropping it because of that.
Got any mods? Remove them, and delete the file localthumbcache

I get this issue sometimes as well, with plates, garbage, clothing piles, has been happening for a while though. I do have trash cans and bins outside but sometimes they freeze and just drop the trash etc on the floor. Hopefully it is fixed soon.
