"The splash screen which can be described as the F1 logo on a black background appears for ~1 sec, after which it disappears. After another ~1 second, the EA APP comes back into foreground. The game doesn't boot, I am not asked to boot the VR or normal version of the game (I assume this is still a thing since F1 23 had it). Video attached". The EA App take the time like if you were playing. In my case I have 3h 23min and couldn´t pass the splash screen. The video is from Adr Junkie. Many reddit users also have this problem.

Hey there,
As I was saying before, in this thread we have different issues affecting players, so what it might be helping you it might not work for others. I am writing this post to try to compile the workarounds that some of you have been posting.
I am going to mark this post as a solution to increase visibility. However, that doesn't mean that the issue has been fixed. The team keeps investigating it and trying to find a solution.
WORKAROUNDS
If I have missed any, please, let me know.
Thank you all for your collaboration! I will keep you updated here as soon as I hear something else!

Same issue here, apart that I actually do get that VR version or normal version dialogue. After which I just get returned to the EA Play app.
Installed the F1 24 game from the EA Play app using my EA Play Pro subscription.
Whatever I try, the game crashes almost directly.
What it does do:
- it gives the F1 24 splash into screen
- it does ask the dialogue window to choose between normal and VR version
- if on an account without admin rights, it does ask for admin rights for the anti cheat software,
- it then does return to the EA Play app, also if I start the game from the desktop icon instead of via the app
What I tried
- Checked all drivers, including the NVidia ones, and Windows for updates, all up to date
- No pheripherals attached, just a plain HP Omen laptop meeting system requirements
- Initially installed the Chinese version due to the issue I see as known that it chooses this version by default. Removed that install. Deleted also the My documents / My Games / F1 24 folder
- Double check to now install the English version as the EA App is set to English. Windows system language being Dutch by the way. Still does not work
- Repaired install, still does not work.
So I am out of my ideas. And my youngest son very badly wants to play on his laptop.

Hey there,
Thank you both for your report, could you attach a Dxdiag here? This will help the team to investigate your issue.

We did this on my sons computer (windows 10) and still the game will not start.
- updated nvidia drivers…May 21 version 555.85
- deleted hardware settings
- verified files…Steam downloaded 25.3MB
- started game via steam
- F1 24 logo appeared
- admin promote for ea anti cheat. Entered asmin password
- logo still displayed
- blank screen
- back to desktop
- steam says game is not running
F1 23 still works fine.
is there any other troubleshooting you would like us to try and help you determine the cause?
EDIT....attached output from DXDIAG
thank you….brian (trying to calm a very frustrated son)

Hi Groguet,
I believe that this may be the same issue as is being mentioned in multiple threads, whereby the EAANticheat splash screen is being shown then it is dropping to the launcher.
I have the same behaviour but from steam.
I posted by event logging, report code, and other diagnostics in anothe thread here -
https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Bug-Reports/cant-open-F1-24/td-p/13760143 (report ID f8dd91aa-e0df-4b14-b47a-f66d3dbe23b6 for good measure)
and i believe that there are a lot of threads that are actually referring to the same issue - particularly:
1) https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Bug-Reports/EAAntiCheatService-Failed-to-obtain-Origin-di...
2) https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Bug-Reports/EAAntiCheatService-Failed-to-obtain-Origin-di...
3) https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Bug-Reports/Game-doesnt-start/m-p/13758943#M221
and the thread we're in right now - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Bug-Reports/Cant-open-F1-24/m-p/13760320#M433
all of the above appear to reference the "EA Anti Cheat" being "unable to find the origin directory" also, and the only one that seems to have been marked as resolved was resolved by reinstalling windows entirely. that shouldn't be needed.
i'll attach my DXDIAG here.
regardless to say, however, any kind of logging which you require, please let me know and i'll grab it for you to help diagnose the issue
additionally in the "how to report a bug" section, it requests the below.

Hey there,
Can you attach any crashes in %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\eaanticheat\Crashdumps ?
To attach them, you can compile them in a zip, and then attach the file to your message.

there's sadly no crash dumps in the folder - the EAAnticheat itself doesn't appear to be crashing as far as i can tell. the appcrash in the event log is specifically referring to the F1_24.exe too.
are there any kinds of crash dumps that i might be able to gather otherwise?
i'm currenly in the process of reinstalling again (i thought i'd give it a try whilst waiting between replies). i'm not certain, but this may have removed previous crash dumps if any were present (however, the folder's last modification timestamp suggests that this isn't the case).
if I continue to have the same issue after finishing the reinstall, I shall return with whatever further information I can get - including those crash dumps if they generate.
is there anything additional that i may possibly be able to help gather? (e.g. are there any command line parameters to be provided for verbose logging or anything else?)
i've attached direct exports of the event logging i'm referring to to help

My Crashdumps directory is empty.....Brian
