Re: [CURRENT ISSUE] Sims 3 Store content uninstalls/won't reinstall, EA App

well, the thing is the game DOES sometimes behave normally, store content installed in all. there's no rhyme or reason to it, i'll just randomly open the game and everything will be perfect and then other times my usermade cc will all be installed but my store content won't be.

okay, so since i am not the greatest with tech let me just clarify something before i attempt your suggestion, because i am hoping that will be a long-term solution.

so i remove just the store cc from the downloads folder and then download them again from the site?

or i remove ALL the downloaded content and this will also uninstall all my usermade cc?

i appreciate your patience.

sims 3 store

★ Novice

Me and my friend have store content in which successfully loads into our launchers and installs into the game perfectly. However, recently, when we install even one bit of sims 3 custom content, in which beforehand worked hand-in-hand with the store content, the store content just disappears from our games. But is still in our launcher still saying it is installed. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

Re: [CURRENT ISSUE] Sims 3 Store content uninstalls/won't reinstall, EA App

@ifyoucghosts  The Sims3Packs in Downloads are content waiting to be installed.  Once that content is installed, the original files become redundant, so you could remove everything in the Downloads folder and it would not uninstall your store or custom content.  The point of removing the store downloads is that the old downloads won't work anymore: the launcher will throw an error instead of installing them.  You need to get rid of the old files before downloading new ones so that the launcher will use the new ones, not the old, when trying to install the content.

So the answer to your question is, you need to remove all store downloads from the Downloads folder, and you could (but don't have to) remove everything else in there too.  You also need to remove the .ebc files from DCCache: these are bundles of installed store content.  The .dbc files are custom content and should stay.  It's a good idea to remove any store .world files in InstalledWorlds as well.

I don't think this will be a permanent fix though.  Most of the other players who've tried it have reported that the problem came back at a later point.

Sims 3 store content "Installation failed"

★★★ Novice

When going to download Sims 3 store content on the Sims 3 launcher, a large majority of my items/objects/worlds/clothing/ect say "Installation failed: Please make sure your game has the latest Software Updates and try again"

How do I make sure the software is updated? My computer is fully up to date as well as my graphics card. I've spent a lot of money on this content and want to be able to use it all.

Please help!

@ivyisabelle101  I've merged your post with the master thread for this and related issues installing store content.  Please see the first post for more information.

The short version is, you'll need to remove your existing files from ...The Sims 3 > Downloads and download fresh copies.

Says Riverview is installed, but not in the dropdown menu

★★★ Newbie

Since I switched to the EA app, Riverview has not been selectable, and saved games using Riverview cannot be played. I even found Riverview in Downloads and in Installed Worlds, deleted them, then went to the SIms 3 page and downloaded it, went through the whole process, the popup says Riverview is installed and can be selected in the dropdown. But it does not appear as a choice.Trying to open a Riverview saved game yields a serious error. That's what they say, a "serious error".

@966b099361abe741   When you reinstalled Riverview did you use the open downloads dashboard to install Riverview?

Yes PC. I re-downloaded Riverview from thesims3.com. Yes, I used the launcher first, then opened the Dashboard upon opening the game after. That's when it said it is installed and can be selected from the dropdown.

Edit: Adding - when I open TS3 and go to Downloads Dashboard, Riverview is available to install now. If I click that, then the game minimizes, the launcher starts then goes into the background. In the launcher, under Downloads there's Riverview. Odd, but I go back the the game, and X out of the download dashboard. Popup says :"Your purchased world is now installed. You may select this world on the main nenu.". But it does not appear.

If I attempt to open a Riverview saved game, the message is "A serious error has occurred  while loading filename.sims3" and strongly recommends restarting.
