Just to be sure, what do you mean exactly by the register button?

by that I mean I don't have the register button only the log in and in that window that pops up even though when I hover over the log in button it says "log in and register" I can only log in

Register with Steam and Origin and then use those to log in to Spore once you have redeemed codes.

I've tried 10 times now and get the same "We're sorry, this code cannot be redeemed here. Please redeem your code at the following site: http://help.ea.com/. FAQ" from EA Manage Account Redeem Code and Origin Redeem Code.

Not sure what I could be doing incorrectly.
