How did we win yet lost leauge rank points

2hrs before war ends we had a ranking of 4193 with huge lead, about 30mins to end I noticed our ranking was 4182. Why did we win by so much yet in final moments our 11point ranking led went to them? They were the higher ranked team.could it be that active players effect this? we had 20 actives, they had only 6 active players. All i could come up with, but maybe it was a glitch? Please clarify, what is rule here.
