Experiencing Lag

I am experiencing horrible lag for about a week now (since I got the regions update?). Every aspect of the game randomly lags. Twice the delay has caused my click to accidentally spend SimCash! The game is basically unplayable. Is no one else experiencing this issue? (On an iPad Air running 11.4.1)

Hmm... it was all working fine on the current system until a few days ago, but I'll try updating.  So, if I uninstall/reinstall the game it isn't going to lose my city? I saw that suggestion elsewhere, but seems risky.
