Certainly! It is quite possible to play SimCity BuildIt in single player mode, as long as you have no desire to participate in Club Wars. You can do this by not adding or inviting any Facebook, Google Play, or Game Center friends, or joining any Club. You will have access to the Global Trade Headquarters where you can buy and sell, however, finding the item(s) you need may prove difficult. It will require you produce more of your own goods and city building will take more time. If you enjoy competition, or even if you'd like to earn special edition buildings, etc., you can still participate in the weekly Contest of Mayors and the longer running Mayors Pass Tracks, Event Tracks [edit] and even the newly added (and less time consuming) City Design Challenges. Platinum Keys can still be earned (without participating in Club Wars) by defeating, or chasing away the Monster.
Overall game play will be slower and may require more hours than if you were part of a Club, but if you enjoy the game and are ready to encounter and tackle some challenges, playing solo will work!
