SimCity won't launch on new PC - Windows 10

If you're on a PC, this is usually something blocking the exe from reaching the Internet. 

1. Make sure your firewall and antivirus are not blocking SimCity.exe, and that it is added to the exception lists. I know when mine updates, it occasionally likes to change settings for no good reason. If you have BitDefender installed, disable it.
2. If you have any mods installed, remove them
3. Make sure your graphics drivers are updated to the most recent version. If you have the sound program Nahimic 2 from MSI installed, disable or uninstall it.
4. Set the desktop icons to run SimCity.exe and Origin.exe as administrator
5. In Origin, right-click SimCity icon, Game Properties, check the box that says "Disable Origin In-game"
6. Set the SimCity desktop icon to run in Windows 7 or 8 compatibility mode.

If none of these work, try a clean boot and attempt to launch SimCity. If it launches, you'll have some detective work to do, enable one startup program at a time, reboot, try SimCity, until you find the program that is blocking it.

Have been banging my head against the wall with this for some time now. 

Finally solved.... a sound app who would have thought of that?

the Nahimic 2 sound app from msi was the culprit.

Took a TON of troubleshooting to find out about the Nahimic 2 program - glad it helped you! (This thread is where we discovered the problem - 4 months!)

 I was not able to play the Simcity complete edition game for many months, I tried all the possible solution available on the blogs, and websites but nothing worked. I even contacted the EA tech team, they very very slow to respond and those dumb * did not have a clue after studying all the reports I submitted. One Mr Gorath suggested idea of checking the nVIDIA Graphics card solved the issue, I had upgraded the nVIDIA card to the latest update because of that Simcity was not launching. When I restored to Original Integrated Version, it worked smoothly.  Try your Graphics' card version and restart the laptop and then the game. All the best.
