That's not true. My game freezes from time to time when I try to build a road.
But it's happening even with new cities/regions.

Well anything is possible with this game...

Mine is not due to any patch! I've been having the problem since the BETA. Happens when there is about 10,000 + citizens.

are you all still encountering this issue? I am still encountering it, if anyone has found a fix or workaround let us know! (kinda sad/pathetic EA aren't fixing this.... its ok tho, lessons learned, last EA game I buy)

i guess maybe its more of a problem with the city, if i play on another city in the same region it doesn't seem to crash (YET).... does this mean I have to abandon my city which is thriving? :/ that kinda ruins it not just for my city but also the region if so..... EA fix this!

Game keeps freezing after 5 mins of game play and it looks like it is still stuck in an infinite loop.
Windows 7 64bit
16GB ram
AMD Phenom x6 1055t
Radeon HD5700
I have a great works that just starts construction and a few mins later simcity becomes not responsive.
The simcity process keeps doing this over and over when the application becomes not responsive

From what I can tell, this issue seems to spawn from using an AMD Graphics Card.
I'm not sure what can be done, but I'm using an AMD card and with my laptop which has just intel HD4000, there isn't a problem with freezing
I've also found that if I go into the map on my laptop, and then go into the map on my desktop with the AMD cards, it works again.
Not sure what the cause of this is.

No, I can confirm this happens on my Nvidia GTX 660 Ti (latest drivers) as well.
