starting quest npc keeps dissapearing

so i am running from from steam for free, and every character i start on every server the starting area is glitched like its missing textures and im falling through the world and every time i get near the first quest objective npc, the one you spawn next to in a new game, the npc or npcs vanish! i have no clue whats going on...
