Cartel coins gone missing

Ive added 2,600 Cartel coins to buy a few races. I started with the Twilek, and it cost me 600 coins. Fine. Now i go to chnage my race on the fleet in the appearance changer and next thing i know i only have 70 Cartel coins left. What happened???? It said the first time you race change its supposed to be free. Now i just lost 25$ for absolutely nothing/
