Game-breaking cursor bug

[ Edited ]

For some reason, the game would either hide the cursor completely, thus locking me in the main menu (and also not receiving keyboard inputs in matches), or treating the whole game as if it was in a menu, so during a match, I couldn't turn around and shoot. Also the cursor was always in the "blue loading circle" form. Does anyone know a way to fix this? It all started when I installed Logitech G Hub on my Windows 11 pc, but didn't fix itself after uninstalling the program

I've already tried to:

  • Repair the game files
  • Clear Origin cache
  • Run BF2 as administrator
  • Disable every overlay active on BF2
  • Remove every USB device other than mouse and keyboard (or rather, I don't have any other USB devices)

Exactly. I found out it was still on, disabled it, and now both BF2 and Fallen Order work just fine

For what its worth I'm using GHub with Windows 11 and I'm not having that issue. I didn't have to do anything for it to work.

You've taken some good steps to troubleshooting. I'm not sure what else it could be.

Ok so uhm, it would appear that also Fallen Order was affected by the same bug, so I checked again all of the stuff I did to try to fix BF2, and well, the Origin overlay was still enabled. I don't know if it re-enabled itself for some reason or whether I even disabled it in the first place, but yep, it was that. Thanks anyways

@Vibe_yeet  To clarify - You turned off Origin overlay and it's now working. Correct?

You should be using EA app now, not Origin.

  1. Open EA app and look in the upper right. You should see your player ID.
  2. Click the down arrow next to your player ID.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Click on the "Application" tab at the top.
  5. Scroll down to "In-game overlay"
  6. Toggle it off.
