Battlefront 2 Xbox Series X constanly freezing

When I play Battlefront 2 on my Xbox Series X, the game freezes after a short time. Sometimes it freezes before I'm in the game. Sometimes it a bit further into the game. Sometimes freezes at the main menu, but rarely.

With no exaggeration; I cannot get through a single match of without freezing. Including single player bot matches

I have untinstalled and reinstalled. Changed from internal storage to external SSD and back. Hard restart and unplugged etc. Ive even just tried to ignore it and just rejoin after every freeze but i can hardly play a hero anymore as i lose all my BP after each freeeze. I'm at my wits end.

I have videos of a typical game freeze that i experience. I now realise I cannot attach matter how much I compress them. In a freeze, the music still plays, and after a while, returns me to the main menu with no error message. These videos perfectly capture my current experience trying to play this once great game. I have videos of freezing that I experience 3 times within less than 10 minutes.

I first assumed it was at times of great stress in a match, with multiple players and particles rendered. However sometimes, I experience a freeze even when theres nothing much happening on screen or in the match itself so my theory seems inconclusive.

Also, it may help to know that if I quit/close the game and return to dashboard during a freeze after about 30 seconds to 1 minute of normal use e.g: navigating the dashboard, opening up another app/game, browsing the store etc. My Xbox freezes the in the same way, and returns back to normal after a similarly short time. This only occurs after I close this game during a freeze.

Any assistance on this matter would be great as this game currently is unplayable for me. All I want to do is play this game at the moment.

Let me know if video evidence is required and how to send it.

This issue is almost always system related @Jarratt_R, if it was game related then your friend would have it also.

All I can recommend is to continue to speak with Xbox support.

Hey @Jarratt_R if the game is closed do you see the freezing occur if ont he dashboard or in store?

It freezes on both the dashboard and the store. Wherever I navigate to in the store, around the dashboard, anywhere. After closing the game during a freez after about 15 seconds it freezes for about about 30 secs

Now here's a bit more interesting information. I just asked my friend to play it on his Series X he isn't freezing. So, it's either my Console as a whole or more interestingly, I have something active in the game that my friend doesn't. Like a specific setting turned on. So I tried going to all settings and switching to default. Didn't work. I could also be my large TV and the HUD interacting with it. I just don't know!

It's almost certainly console related @Jarratt_R.

Have you tried the steps suggested by Xbox?

I tried Xbox Support and went on a live chat as their phone lines weren't working. They asked me to perform all the troubleshooting steps that i did already, that didnt work. So they then came the conclusion that it was a game issue then told me to try getting a refund from Xbox.

But that conclusion was made before I got my friend to try playing it and had no issue so that info wasn't apparent at the time.

I can see what your saying when you say it's a console related issue. However, this is the only game that does this I've never seen a freeze like this before. It doesn't crash and return to the Xbox Dashboard. The gameplay stops, the music still plays and after a while back to main menu like nothing ever happened. Only after I close the game during a freeze will it affect my console never any other time. If I just search for a game again and continue playing straight after I freeze and have been returned to the main menu, it doesn't freeze in the same time frame as it would if I closed it the dashboard (if that makes sense).

Also I've been using the Xbox console recording software to capture videos. (I wish i could attatch vids so you could see) these videos perfectly records the freeze and continuing music and the return to the menu. Wouldnt the console's own recording software be affected by a console freezing issue?

Is there no chance it could be a very buried bug in the game? For example. Something insanely random as: It freezes because my Boba Fett level is 4, my current equipped skin on my Assault class is human 2, and my controller sensitivity is 37, and if all that is the case it crashes when another player switches character. Something so specific I've been unlucky enough to uncover it?

If it is console related, could this be a heat/fan issue? Bare in mind the fact that I experience no quality issues before and after the freezing, no framerate drops or lagging etc. Everything normal. Freeze. Back to Battlefront main menu. and normal again

I tried EA Help and was going insane. You won't belive what it is like, utterly ridiculous over there.

I have the same issue but on my Xbox series S.  I can be in the middle of game play and then I'll hear this buzzing sound and I know that is when it's either going to freeze and crash or just crash.
