Enhancements: Idea for a Fame Race Module for Real Racing 3

★ Novice

I had an idea for how Firemonkeys could refresh the farming for fame race to address the issue of advancing and leveling up for higher-level players. Currently, the only real option is repetitiously and monotonously re-running the 10-lap race at Le Mans in the Endurance Kings or Endurance Champions Series.

It would be called The Weekly Fame Race

  • Similar to Weekly Time Trial Tournament, there would be a Car and Track combination:
    • The car would come from Legend Category
      • If the Car was part of a Special Event or Limited-Time Series in the current update, the players would be guaranteed that the Car would appear as the Weekly Fame Race Car the week following the end of the Event, similar to what is done now with the Race Team Events that follow SE's and LTS's
      • Car's could be put on Get It Now and Upgrade Sales to coincide with inclusion in the Weekly Fame Race.
    • Car would have to be upgraded to the minimum PR for 100% completion in its Main Series or the Recommended PR of the SE or LTS.
      • If car cannot be upgraded for that percentage (Cars in series where the Minimum PR is higher than the Cars Maximum PR, then the minimum PR would be for next lowest completion tier (75%, 50%, 25%)
    • Car would need to be fully serviced to enter the race
    • Car would be automatically serviced at the end of each race by a dedicated Weekly Fame Race mechanic, so as not to tie up the player’s mechanic(s).
    • At the end of the normal servicing period, the race could be run again.
      • There would be no 30% time reduction opportunity
      • Because the repair period would control the number of times a race could be run per day, race lengths could be shorter. The race could be 4 laps of Spa or 6 of Silverstone, etc.
  • Race would have a set Fame payout regardless of distance or laps.
    • 1st Place would “pay” 30,000-50,000 Fame.
    • Subsequent places would be 5% Fame less than the prior position.
    • Agent (2x Fame) could be used once per day, chosen when on the starting grid.
    • Fame Race could not be combined with first race of the day bonus.
  • Starting position would be randomized each race.
    • Sometimes you would start first, sometimes last, sometimes in between
  • Bot difficulty would be set based on Player's current level
    • This would be based on a reasonable average for the level and the starting position for that race.
    • Difficulty should be challenging however, there should be a reasonable expectation that the player could achieve a podium position in the race.
      • A pole position would generate a race with more difficult competitors for that race.
      • A 22nd place grid would generate easier bots at the front and middle of the field.
      • Shorter races or tracks where there are few opportunities to pass would require bots of reduced difficulty.
      • Bot difficulty could be adjusted based on the player's performance in the prior races run during the week.
  • An ad would automatically run before the start of the fame race and at the end of the fame race to generate revenue, while not being overly obtrusive.
  • This module also provides opportunities for Firemonkeys to pursue weekly or monthly sponsorships for the module.
    • Players Car could be skinned with the livery of the sponsor when competing in the module.
    • Billboards could display the Sponsorship ad, as can be seen in the showcase for the Hyundai Veloster

Based on this, it would

  • Reduce the amount of Laps for farming and keep high-level players engaged in the game
  • Vary the Cars that can be used to farm for Fame
  • Vary the tracks where farming races are run on.
    • If a car is one of the original cars that does not have a newer track in any of its series then that car and those tracks could be paired to give players the opportunity to experience driving on the track in that particular car. This is a similar idea to adding Le Mans to the Veyron Community Challenge LTS.
  • Limit the number of times the Weekly Fame Race could be run, reducing the chance of cheating or exploiting the system
  • Provide Firemokeys the opportunity to create a way for players to earn fame besides the 10-Lap Le Mans Race or creating new series with equivalent races.
  • It would maintain the significance for players to reach Endurance Kings or Endurance Champions, as those would be the races you would want to have for first race Fame bonuses, and also when you want to run significantly more races in the day to level up.
  • Preserves the current game model of Career Progression and encourages progression through all Categories to Legend
  • Increases the importance of participation and completion of Special Events, Limited-Time Series, and Flashback Events for Legend Category cars. It also encourages upgrades to PRs that allow for completion in Legend Category Series.
  • Rewards are based on participation and not on competition with other players as in the Weekly Time Trial Tournament. All participants earn fame, which after a certain point in the game is a more valuable reward than R$s. Very few players are actually competitive for Group C or better of the WTTT, so this will give them a chance to earn rewards that will allow them to Level up without losing interest in the game because the only way to accomplish advancement is to run 10 Laps at Le Mans over and over again in an LMP1 car.
  • The foundation for the Code is the Weekly Time Trial Tournament and would only require modifications to adapt to the Weekly Fame Race
