Plants VS Zombies - asking to update a brand new game!!

I bought Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare for my son today so he could play it on Xbox Live. It asks to download an update, but because he has a child's profile it won't let him play the game since the update doesn't let him go any further if he selects 'No' to the update.

What is this update? Why can't he just play the game without having to go through an update on a brand new game??

Please advise. He just wants to play it!!

Thanks . I finally figured it out ..

The download that's being prevented is the free DLC, that is required for all players in order to play Garden Warfare. Even though it's free, the DLC is accessed through the Xbox Store. If his account is blocked for transations, then it wont let it download it.

It might be in your best interest to download it on your account then boot the game on his.

After you've donwloaded the update, go to your Xboz menu - games - and select P vs Z GW from there. That shoud do it.

My sons is the disc you still have to download it ?

@Intilissa Hi, there will almost always be an update available as Garden Warfare is an online game and we will have added a lot of content since the discs were printed. 

If you accept the update and let it process, do you have any issue? Do you have any purchase locks in place, as per Distracted189's post?
