How do I change servers on PC?

Hey I was just wondering how I would connect to the US servers because the AU servers are dead. I can only seem to connect to them by joining a friend. There seems to be a system that makes you automatically join the server with the lowest ping, that happens to be AU for me. Is there some kind of work around for this like a command line? I tried using a VPN but it was so slow that I couldn't connect to the servers.
