@RoseFinn12 Personally, I would wait a little while.

You can buy a new computer, right now, have it be top of the line... And by the time Project Rene / Sims 5 comes out, it may well be out of date, or not enough power to run.

Many computers still can barely run the Sims 3, even the best ones. Partly due to poor optimization, but really, that game is a beast. Sims 4 isn't much better. Especially as you add more packs.

I don't think this is accurate at all.  Sims 3 runs great on a mid-range gaming PC with only a couple of small interventions.  It would be nice if no interventions were necessary, or if the game ran well on lower-end hardware, but still, it does quite well on a reasonably-powerful system.
