On fifa 23 and it says avatar not found? I’ve had 23 for ages now and my over all was 86 now I have to start fresh with a new character? That’s highly unfair, I hadn’t played fifa 23 in months and this is my first time back on it

You shouldn't lose any of your skill points.

From experience, you will only have to redo your appearance and points allocation.

All VP progress has been kept server side for many years, ever since users found out they just had to copy a file and change 1 line in the code to duplicate maxed out pros..

.. of course that's back when it was actually challenging to aquire skill points and a completed pro was rare... Miss those days. The amount of skill points and the abilities VPs can now obtain is obscene and breaks the game completely.

No all my stuff is gone, I’m now 80 overall when I was 86? How do I get my original player back
