Windows 8 and 8.1 and Firefox

★ Novice

When are you going to support windows 8 and 8.1 for games like Canasta.....It has gotten progressively worse and I am constantly getting a timed out error and then am frozen.....

This is really frustrating and I am ready to cancel my subscription and go to a site that supports the browser and level of windows that is most current.

An answer would be greatly appreciated...

I just checked, I loaded the game with no problem.  using fire fox on my 8.1 computer

What happens when you try to load and play the game?
Are there any error messages, if so, What are they?

we need the information from these questions and link, so we
know what we are dealing with, so we can better assist you.

which of these games can you load & play or not load:

Java base games---Aces up, world class solitaire, word jong, makeover madness

Flash base games---Clue, word whomp, sweet tooth, dominoes

this link will show your computer information
copy and paste that information back here

it may also be helpful to add your anti-virus program and internet connection.
What type of computer are you using? desktop or a laptop?
How much RAM does your computer have?

then someone may be able to help you.

Browser = Firefox 36.0 Cookies Enabled? = true Do Not Track = unspecified Resolution = 1366 x 768 OS = Windows 8.1 Flash version = 17.0.0 Java Versions installed = 1.8.0_31

I am not having a problem loading Canasta, and I can even start playing a game. During the game it starts to take longer to give me my turn, often the timer will expire, then as the game progresses it will freeze and offer no options to get out of it. the only way out is to shut down Firefox which then gives me an error to leave the page.

Or - I get an error that it has timed out...and I have to reboot the laptop in order to get out of it.

No problem with Java based games.....the other issue is with Hidden Object Games....often I have to go into the game several times before it will load the episodes screen. Most of the time I get a partial screen where the Friends would be found.

Anti virus is AVG

Toshiba Satellite 4G, 64 bit system

Part of the problem will be AVG, that anti-virus program and Pogo do not get along with each other to well.

the other problem you have is only 4 gb of RAM, if you can scoot that to 6, it would really help.

Checkout these links for flash player settings:    some information will repeat in these links.
http://answers.ea.com/t5/Pogo/FLASH-Updating-Flash-Version-17-0-0-134/td-p/2734618/jump-to/first-unr...

Flash uses a lot of resources and there's a lot of animation in the game.
It may help if you increase the storage available to Flash for pogo.com.
Please see this article from the official Adobe website:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.html
On the second tab slide the scale all the way to the right.
On the second to last tab look for Pogo (any variation) click on it and the slide the scale to the far right.

After all this, please restart your computer and see if the games now load.

Try clearing your browser cache and java cache to see if that helps.
You can find information on how to do this depending on your browser in this link:

Try clearing your flash player cache, see this post on the Adobe flash forum:

If you're still having problems loading certain Flash based games, please read all the posts in this thread and try out the suggestions there:
