I've noticed repeatedly that matched or removed candies are not always being counted for the shopkeeper ability. For example, on Sugar Shack level 24, I'll look at the powerup meter and note 5 orange candies remain. I then remove 3 orange candies via a match and the counter remains at 5 candies. The next match usually works as expected (i.e. I've never seen it happen twice in a row).

Hey there, @TheAranor.
It appears that you have your Do Not Track set as True. This can cause Pogo to have a difficult time tracking your progress. Can you try turning Do Not Track off to see if it improves behavior?

I've turned off the Do Not Track (i.e. enabled tracking) and restarted the browser. Still seeing the issue.

Hey there, @TheAranor.
Thanks for the update. At this point, it should track properly. I haven't experienced the issue in my own testing, so let's give the HTML5 troubleshooting a try to see if that improves performance for you.

OK, I looked through the HTML5 thread you linked.
It's not a graphical issue, as it's not mathematically counting the match. The ability counting area "bounces" when an appropriate match is made, but doesn't deduct the number of matched candies.
The game loads and doesn't freeze.
HTML5test shows a score of 535 out of 555 points.
I'm using Chrome Dev 75.0.3770.100 on Windows 10 (64-bit), with an AMD A10-7800 Radeon R7, 12 Compute Cores 4C+8G clocked at 3.50 GHz, 16 GB of memory (10.9 GB usable).
I've got a second computer. I'll try the game on that one and post findings later.

I played about 10 or so games on the other PC. I was unable to see the issue, indicating it's likely specific to PC #1. The most notable difference between the PCs is the processor, though with over 20 years experience in IT, that's not necessarily going to be the issue.
PC #2 stats:
