Flawed scoring in Jungle Gin

Ok; 500 point match; 1st game; I have 64 points; computer 1 wins the game; I get 64 points for the match, computer 1 gets his 300-something points; all normal.

Next game; 1st game, computer one has 45 (maybe, he has points) points; I win the game; he gets 145 for match; I get my usual 300-something.

How is that correct? How does the computer get extra points if he loses but if I lose, I get no extra points? I've noticed this numerous times.
