My game wont load to the battle for PvZ Heroes

I can load past the loading screen, but I cannot get past to battle. I can click on the battle button, but it stays stuck on the black load screen with a flower on the lower bottom corner. I have tried to wait it out, but it eventually crashes.

As you can see it will not work, and this is an iPhone 8s with ios 12.0.1
