Gems for ads - something went wrong

I've been getting the "Oops, something went wrong." message for the last 24 hours when trying to watch ads to earn gems.  It is happening every single time I try to watch an ad.  I have tried restarting the phone, clearing the game cache, and re-installing the app, but always have the same result.  It seems that this started when the new update came through.

With the daily challenges down, I will need to be able to "buy" my boost meter full to have a chance of getting all 4 cards for the weekly event.  Without the gems working either, this is very frustrating.

1. Try to switch connection type:  Wi-Fi to mobile data or vice versa, sometimes it helps.

2. Try to watch ads on different time, sometimes it works in the morning, but sometimes in the evening or daytime.

Haven't find any more working solutions, seems like nothing doesn't help.
