Travel log is back and operational. I missed six of the 4-hour challenges because they were not available. In the end, I did not miss any of the 10-gem quests.

Still no gems or coins available by watching ads. I have missed out on about 45 gems offered daily with the ads. I have lost approximately 200,000 coins (500/per ad) over the past few weeks, concentrated on the past week.

I think the 10 gem quests were meant to boost our gems because we weren't getting enough.
Normal service was resumed once i updated the game but NOBODY told me i had to update and it cost me a lot of gems.
I keep losing gems trying to keep my streaks going and i don't mind losing 10,20 or even 30 but sticking 10 on each time is getting too costly.do the math.
I just lost my streak of 20 (best yet) because i had 39 and needed 50.
In my first week 3 invincible players with maxed out premium plants and no sun producing plants cost me 60 much needed gems.
I have bought gems with cash but i won't anymore(partly on principle and partly because I'm broke).

@joecrowley28

Do you get 45 gems daily for watching ads?

That is quite a lot more than I get, in fact, it is 5 times more.

I only get 9 gems a day for the ads.

Hmm.  Just wondering if this is based on the geographic location

LOL, so if you are not broke, does this mean you will buy half of the gems to fund your victory?

If i was flush i wouldn't.
Achievements must be earned to be appreciated.
I'm a big believer in a levelish playing field and with the benefit of hindsight
The first battlez match i didn't know what i was doing with my level 1 plants and lost heavily and lost interest for about a month.
Now I'm hooked and battlez is even affecting my sleep patterns (i wake up before dawn and reach for my smartphone).
I didn't realise the importance of gems and didn't bother collecting them.
I've watched a LOT of ads collecting coins but i can spend them at an alarming rate on a difficult level.
There's still a lot i don't know about battlez but my advice to newcomers is:
Play your 4 hour freeplays,
Every day collect your free gauntlets (they carry over).
Collect free gems evey day.
Collect free coins every day.
Do ALL the daily challenges to get pinatas to level up your plants.
In my first week of playing properly i didn't know what i was doing but i analized every match, saw what worked and honed my strategy.
I came top of the soil league with level 2 plants.
2nd week i came top of the wood league with level 2 plants.
Third week (brick) i wanted to really wanted to complete a hat trick but came second.
Next i came third in the iron league(almost made it to second by splurging my hoarded gauntlets).
Odd thing is whoever came top with over 400 crowns isn't in the bronze league with me.
I am currently third in the bronze league with mostly level 3 plants and if i go up I'll be happy with that.
If you lose to someone in suspicious circumstances then report it to Ea.
Happened 3 times in my first week, cost me 60 gems that I'll never see again (sob) but i reported it and now i it hasn't happened since.
My best score is about 550,000 and i read on the forums about players who get over a million (first time i was REALLY thrashed i looked at his plants and based my strategy accordingly and it made me a better player).
Finally Learn to take screenshots for post match analysis.
I could probably go on but I'm not.
see you on the lawn.

I will not blame them, maybe they have some issues on their side, but they were too kind to me when I got almost banned because I left a couple of times the online game, because I got a power surge and I had no electricity for a couple of hours, that happened to me often and I thought to change my supplier as the old one will burn my PC and the rest of the devices in my apartment. I used the usave service for that to make my life easier. I've heard about that service a couple of times from a lot of friends of mine, that have used this service too. This one is the best in this field and you can be 100% sure you will have a qualified specialists help. You will have to give them your postal code and to choose from the available suppliers in the area. Perfect service, so that's why I think we can easily understand EA and have a little bit more patience

I should like to point out that I am no relation to the user who was kind enough to drag this 2 year old post to the head of the queue.
